Barefoot Festival is an eco-festival of music, art, nature, local food and environmental education, which aims to promote and set in motion the long-term ecological transformation of the entertainment industry in Albania. The festival promises an atmosphere where nature and the arts embrace in a collision of beautiful sound waves, where reconnection with oneself is enabled by the surrounding environment.
During the festival you will experience innovative educational workshops, artistic collaborations, sharing of experiences and exchange of ideas, stimulating sounds and positive energy.
The Reuse Component of the festival is supported by the Circular City Labs – Tirana a joint effort of the European Union and Germany via (1) Circular City Labs Project (2) EU4 Circular Economy and Livable Cities and (3) EU4 Innovation programmes in partnership with Municipality of Tirana
How the cup return system works / Why reuse matters.
1. Get your drink and pay a deposit of 100 LEK
2. Hold on to the cup between uses, refill instead of replacing, and use it for water too
3. Return to a cup station after one or several uses and receive your deposit back
Reusable packaging systems are sustainable solutions designed to replace single-use packaging by allowing containers to be used multiple times in a circular loop. These systems typically involve durable materials and a return, cleaning, and redistribution process that minimizes waste, reduces environmental impact, and promotes a culture of responsibility. They are increasingly used in food services, retail, and logistics to support eco-friendly consumption.
